Hey John
Thanks for YOUR thoughts.....and yes I am going to write more. Now how many times have I said that.
I would write all day if I could but there is so much to see and do.
I have been in Dallas for the weekend and will write on that.

The US elections have been well followed in New Zealand. Never has it been like this before. Maybe that is the result of technology today in that media coverage is a much simpler task and certainly right on the moment reporting.
It has been interesting watching it all unfold and for myself a captivating experience. The 'frenzy' and 'emotion' of the US people is 'mindbogling' and I admire their comittment to there governments and it makes me question our comittment here in NZ to the politics of our nation.
I Know in the US that political learning is part of the curriculum in the schools so that the nation learns from an early age of what there political system is about. Also they they sing to and honour their flag each morning. Both these events I am sure builds them a strong sense of patriotism.
We seem to build our patratism on sporting acheivements and I wonder if that is enough? I think to be informed we need some education about our political system and some patriotism about our flag and national anthem would be beneficial.
Obama the Democrat excites me. I have read of his childhood and of his pathway through life to now be President and it gives me hope. Hope that for others out there who feel mistreated or unfortunate that they to can master their disadvantages in life and build on them such that they can set goals and have visions that encourage themselves to reach their full potential. I Wish him well in the task ahead of him.
Graham, your comment in this 'blog' is a 'two liner'. I am missing your usual thought provoking and soul searching wisdom. You are our kiwi over there and your comments are what I am always most interested in.
